Job Description Summary

The Financial Manager – Foundations will ensure financial integrity and compliance with federal, state, local, and other program regulations and guidelines to ensure the goodwill and appropriate use of the college’s and foundations’ resources.


Interact effectively with a diverse group of individuals to include other state agencies, private organizations, Executive Staff members, and other department directors to interpret and apply policies and procedures and serve as a resource in solving complex and sensitive problems. Manage the budgeting, financial reporting, and fiscal operations for two college foundations in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, Governmental Accounting Standards Board, Financial Accounting Standards Board, and other state, federal, local and program regulations and guidelines. To serve as foundation financial liaison to the staff of the TCC Educational Foundation and Real Estate Foundation, college community, and Executive Staff. Facilitate the annual audit and preparation of 990’s for the foundations. Interact with banking and investment officials on behalf of the foundations and the college. Assist the Assoc. Vice President for Finance-Designated Funds in the development of strategic goals and business plans for Financial Services as it relates to the foundations.

Required Qualifications

Comprehensive knowledge of non-profit and governmental accounting and auditing principles promulgated by the AICPA, FASB, GAO and GASB. Practical experience in financial statement preparation for non-profits and knowledge and ability to independently assemble and analyze data and prepare complex financial statements and reports. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and meet reporting deadlines. Strong analytical skills. Demonstrated skill in developing systems, processes, and drafting policies and procedures. Ability to manage short and long term priorities in an effective and cost efficient manner. Experience with strategy development and implementation, and re-engineering processes and system changes. Strong business acumen. Demonstrated proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet and data base software. Demonstrated ability to plan and execute job duties independently. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a variety of constituents in a collaborative style including Executive Staff, state and federal officials, campus community and the general public. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated proficiency in use of comprehensive non-profit accounting software. Accounting or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities. Extensive knowledge of non-profit organizations and fund accounting. Practical experience in accounting for non-profits using automated financial systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of Blackbaud Financial Edge and Raiser’s Edge Software preferred. MBA or CPA preferred. Advanced accounting experience in a non-profit, government or college setting preferred.

8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday

Salary Information

Actual salary will be determined based on individual qualifications and experience with consideration for internal alignment factors. The college offers an excellent benefits package.
