This position will be responsible to

  • Account management for Import premiere customers, ensuring the smooth release and delivery of cargo.

  • Monitor cargo for timely freight and customs release and communicate any issues to customers

  • Coordinate with logistics and truckers to arrange cargo delivery

  • Expedite dwelling cargo, as needed

  • Communicate across departments to retrieve necessary information

  • Inform customer of shipment/cargo status

  • Perform tracking/tracing of all cargo in the pipeline

  • Update tracking reports with upcoming shipments using DIVA

  • Process diversions

  • Assist in problem resolution including damaged cargo, lost containers, and other reports as needed

  • Respond to customer inquiries and requests in a timely manner

  • EDI Submission/Monitoring

  • Compile metrics and run monthly reports including MQC, aging, dwell and other reports as required

  • Answer general customer service and STARs phone calls

Miscellaneous related duties or projects as assigned

Requirements

Skill Sets / Education & Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required.

  • Minimum of 2 years customer service experience required

  • Exceptional customer service, interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Strong organizational, time management and problem solving abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to multitask

  • Must be proficient in basic Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc).

  • Possess a mindset that clearly recognizes the importance and sensitivity of our customers. 

Skill Sets / Education & Experience Preferred:

  • Associates Degree preferred.
  • Strong preference for Internal candidates to have a working knowledge within internal systems of LARA, MIRA and DIVA.
  • Strong preference for Internal candidates to have a basic understanding of rates, invoicing and service contracts.
  • Basic understanding of shipping industry  preferred.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Excel preferred, (i.e. macros, data manipulation, formulas, lookups, formatting, pivot tables.
  • Possess a mind set that clearly recognizes the importance and sensitivity of our customers.
  • Ability to work staggered hours as needed for departmental coverage.
