**External Job Description:**

Linesmen Shipwrights are responsible for establishing critical lines and profiles for most steps that are taken in building units in the shops, platens, or shipboard. They use survey equipment such as levels, transits and Total Station equipment.

**Basic Qualifications:**

• Must have basic Computer Skills.

• Must have Strong Math Knowledge and Skills.

• Must be able to work ALL assigned shift hours

as production needs dictate.

• Must be able to learn to read, interpret and utilize blueprints and drawings.

• Must be able to use a variety of tools and measuring devices during this process.

• Must be able to work in an industrial construction environment involving extreme heights, confined spaces, physical labor and various weather conditions within a shipyard environment.

• Must be able to successfully pass the Work Keys Assessments and Physical Agility Test.

• Must be willing to be completely clean shaven (other than a mustache) on a daily basis, in order to be respirator qualified.

• Experience in surveying using levels, transits and Total Station is Preferred.

• Technical Drawing Skills are a plus.

• Experience using excel/word is needed.

• Experience using AutoCAD/Katia/or any other 3D computer programs is helpful.

• Geometry/Trig knowledge is extremely helpful.
