**External Job Description:**



As a welder, you will first be qualified through the shipyards state of the art welding school. After completion of welding school, you will use a wide range of welding processes to perform pipe welds in all phases of ship construction. The candidate will use their pipe welding experience utilizing the SMAW (stick welding), and manual GTAW (tig) processes. Welders will also receive additional training including certified visual inspection, fire watch, and troubleshooting minor welding equipment problems. Candidates must pass a series of practical welding assessments on various base materials in order to retain the position. and welding X-ray pipe is preferred. **Basic Qualifications:**



The pipe welder position requires a minimum of (1) year of welding experience utilizing the SMAW (stick welding), and manual GTAW (tig) processes or the completion of an AWS accredited school. This is a construction environment involving extreme heights, confined spaces, physical labor and various weather conditions within a shipyard environment. Must be able to work assigned shift as production needs Must be able to work all shifts.
